Colleen Hathaway - Tasting Room Wine Education
Colleen attended her first official wine tasting while visiting Europe after graduating from the University of New Hampshire. Having stumbled upon the famous Hospice de Beaune wine auction and community wine tasting in Beaune, France, she could not have asked for a better introduction to the world of wine. The way the community came together to share not only the wine, but the local foods was inspiring. Developing that interest in local wine she began hosting her own Friday Night Wine Club; a way for her friends to come together and try new wines and appetizers each week.
While toying with the idea of relocating from San Diego to the Finger Lakes she was gifted with a bottle of Finger Lakes wine from her father. Not long after, she not only was living in the region but she was well on her way to completing her mission of visiting all of the local wineries. Colleen became a Claddagh Wine Club member on one of her first few visits to Heart and Hands and not being able to contain her enthusiasm for the wines, she joined us in the tasting room in June 2011. A native of upstate New York, Colleen is thrilled to have such high quality wines right in her backyard. Colleen continues her mission of her personal wine education and is delighted to share her passion for our wines with you.
